Sustainability

With 6 different themes around the DIY packages, it can sometimes be difficult to choose. Below I will give a short explanation of what you can expect per DIY package theme. Are you giving the DIY package as a gift? Then consider our gift voucher, so the lucky recipient can choose what appeals to them. Also read our blog about DIYs for more clarity!
PS. All DIY packages are in any case already suitable for complete beginners!
1. Making candles
Candle making is so much fun! You can really let your creativity run wild by working with different molds or teacups from the thrift store. From the color and scent to the shape of the candle, you decide. Extra fun is that it is super relaxing. Melting the wax, mixing scents, and decorating the candles can be a real zen moment.
Homemade candles also make great unique gifts for your friends and family. Complete beginners will also be able to do this DIY, there is actually very little that can go wrong! It is a matter of melting the wax at the right temperature, which will not be a problem with the thermometer. Then you place a wick in your mold or cup, pour out the wax and let it harden. Easy Peasy! This DIY is suitable for both groups and working alone.
2. Embroidery
Embroidery is my personal favorite and in my opinion the most relaxing hobby of the 6! It is a slow craft where it is just as much about the process as about the end result. So if you really want a moment for yourself and get out of your head, get started with a modern embroidery kit. Even without any experience there are embroidery patterns among them that are super easy to do.
Each package comes with a comprehensive manual that shows you exactly how to proceed. So don't be intimidated by examples that look very detailed, often a pattern consists of only 3 to 5 different embroidery stitches and you can learn them by heart in no time!
3. Zeep maken
De DIY pakketten zelf zeep maken zijn het geschikst voor groepsactiviteiten! Voor zowel kinderfeestjes als vriendinnen avonden zijn de pakketten leuk om op een toegankelijke manier met je handen bezig te zijn. Zeep maken met gietzeep is een gemakkelijk klusje, het is een kwestie van de zeep verhitten, in de mal gieten, decoreren, geuren, kleuren en uit laten harden.
Je kunt zelf zeep maken op twee verschillende manieren, volgens de 'cold process' methode en met gietzeep. Wij werken in de DIY pakketten alleen met gietzeep omdat dit de makkelijkste manier is om zelf zeep te maken. We hebben wel voor een extra fijne gietzeep variant gekozen met Shea boter zodat alle gemaakte zeepjes van hoge kwaliteit zijn en dus ook echt bruikbaar. Ps, ze gaan hartstikke lang mee dus ook leuk om cadeau te geven als je teveel hebt gemaakt 😄
4. Clay pot
Our DIY clay kit contains everything you need to make your own unique pots/candle holders/worms etc. The kit contains high quality clay that can be air dried or baked in a ceramic oven. So you can choose to visit your local pottery studio and have your work of art baked!
The package includes an extensive explanation of the various ceramic/clay techniques that you can use to sculpt the most beautiful creations. This DIY, just like the soap making package, is also super suitable for large groups with both children and adults. Everyone can make a nice pot of clay according to their own level!
5. Making paper
This is the newest package we added to the webshop, especially for the holidays it is nice to write a personal message on a beautiful piece of handmade paper!
In addition, just like all other DIYs, it is a very nice moment for yourself, this DIY is suitable to work on on a Sunday afternoon by yourself. What I really like about this DIY is the slow, relaxing process of making paper, but also the tangible beautiful paper that comes out of it. Drawing on this paper or writing texts immediately feels a lot more special.
6. Painting on
number
The painting by number kits are one of the few DIYs in the entire webshop that we did not think up and put together ourselves. The kits come from the French brand Le petite epicerie, they have the same values as us and really cool painting by number kits! One of the first hobbies I spent hours on as a child was painting by number. It was so wonderfully relaxing and I was always so proud of the end result.
This series of packages is made together with illustrators from all over the world and I am really a fan of the images. The packages are also packed by a foundation and the paint is ecologically responsible. That is why the series is proudly in the webshop!
