Make your own paper

Making your own paper is super easy and fun to do! You are actively working on it for about 1 to 2 hours and then have to let the paper dry for 1 night before you can use it. I personally find it a wonderfully relaxing job, it is really a moment where you can switch off your head and put your hands on, to summarize it briefly. There is no pressure behind it and the actions are all calm and can be done at your own pace. I would dare to say that it is a form of active meditation!

Materials for making your own paper

All you need is a scoop frame, cellulose paper pulp, a large container of water and an old sheet or large piece of cloth to let the paper dry. What can you do with handmade paper?

Making handmade paper is a fun experience in itself, but I can imagine that you will eventually want to do something with the handmade paper. I have tried a number of things myself, including calligraphy, watercolors, stamping and framing dried flowers with the handmade paper as a background. This all worked super well! It is also fun to add dried flowers such as lavender to the water while making the paper so that it comes forward as a relief in the final handmade paper.
