Is the Christmas embroidery kit suitable for beginners?
Short answer: Yes, they do! The patterns all consist of the same 10 basic embroidery stitches. These embroidery stitches are explained in detail in the manual that comes with the package. Do you want a preview or practice a bit? Via our Instagram page @Daffys.diy you will find a guide with videos that explain the basic embroidery stitches. This way you can see that the stitches are actually super simple. Even without any handicraft experience, you will master the stitches quite quickly with a little practice and then it is just a matter of following the pattern.

How long does it take me to make 1 pattern?
The package contains 3 hoops for 3 different projects, how long it takes to finish a pattern depends on how much experience you have with embroidery and which pattern you choose. If we assume a beginning embroiderer with an average pattern, you will be busy for about 1 to 2 hours without interruption! In total you would get 3 to 6 hours of embroidery fun from the package :)
What do I do with the finished embroidery pieces?
The embroidery hoops in the package are small enough to hang in their entirety in the Christmas tree! It is something different from a standard Christmas ball and gives your tree a nice unique 'handmade' effect. You can also hang the 3 rings in their entirety on the wall as a kind of gallery wall or between the Christmas cards. You can also give a ring as a gift, see it as a variation on a Christmas card! Extra nice if you have one of the quotes embroidered on the ring, I suspect that the recipient of the gift has never received something like this before and handmade is always nicer, then you know for sure that a lot of time and love has gone into it. I myself once hung a ring with a Christmas quote in the Christmas wreath on the front door, now our front door is covered so the embroidery was not affected by rain - it surprisingly held up well outside!

What do I do with leftover embroidery thread?
The Christmas embroidery kit contains more yarn than is actually needed to fill the 3 embroidery hoops. You can use this yarn to pimp tea towels, socks, t-shirts etc.! You can find inspiration in the online manual that comes with the kit, but I would also definitely recommend scrolling through Pinterest, there are more than enough fun embroidery projects to be found and now that you have filled the 3 hoops, you have also mastered embroidery so you will have no problem making your own work without a pattern, it is a lot easier than it seems!
