 About the Daffie's DIY packages
 🧡 Since the beginning of 2021, the packing and shipping of the packages has been completely taken over by the Nora works foundation. They are a social employer that creates workplaces for everyone with an intellectual disability who can and also want to work in a safe environment. There could not have been a better match - our packages are packed with great care and love and at the same time the employees can participate in the labor market at their own pace. With every order you place, you also directly support a wonderful initiative, because they receive a part of the profit from every order directly.
 👩🏻 Daffie's was founded by Daphne, after completing her international business studies she started a job but was sent home on her first day at work. The very first lockdown due to corona had just started in the Netherlands and there was simply no time to train anyone was the message. Doing nothing was not an option either, so full attention went to a then small project for the following year, which paid off! At the beginning of 2022, Daffie's started selling internationally in collaboration with vervaco, among other things, and both the team and the range were further expanded. On to even more great things and thank you for all the support on behalf of the Daffie's team!
 🌱 Also not entirely unimportant: The materials in the DIY packages have been selected with great care and attention to the environment. I think it has become clear to all of us lately that the world is not doing so well at the moment. Small changes can make a big difference if everyone participates! That is why I have always asked myself when purchasing products what the most 'green' option is. So far I have consciously made the following choices:
 The shipping boxes are made from recycled biodegradable cardboard.
 The filling in the packages are water-soluble, non-harmful foam granules instead of plastic granules.
 Where possible, purchasing is done within Europe instead of Asia, so you have shorter transport lines and therefore less pollution. If something cannot be found within Europe, it comes by train and not by plane.
 The candle wax in the packages does not contain paraffin and only certified palm oil of known origin and not associated with deforestation.
 The Gietzeep contains no harmful microplastics, is vegetable based and not tested on animals.
 Manuals are not printed in the box but can be downloaded online via a QR code. This saves us a lot of paper! They often have many pages and even though I think it is nice to just get it in a booklet, I still thought it was more important to go for the 'green' alternative.
 What does all this cost? I compared the cheapest alternative to the greenest alternative and looked at the difference for each choice and whether it was worth it. With the manuals it was easy, the greenest alternative was also the cheapest alternative but with the other points this was not the case. I calculated how much more expensive the packages are by choosing the green alternatives. This comes down to an average of only 0.38 cents per package! Worth it twice over as far as I'm concerned. Every choice I face I will continue to make the same consideration. In this way I hope to be able to contribute my bit!
